TekWorks Installed six racks and over 1100 cat6a single ended port cabling patch cords to various Nexus 2K and 5K switches, 1200 rack to rack cat6a cables, and over 500 strands of 50 micron MM fiber assemblies.   This job was completed in under 6weeks.   Complete 10G I-Patch solution.

June-2009 - TekWorks Outside Plant department, joined by our Fiber Optic services department, has recently completed the installation of approximately 8,000 feet of a new 432 strand single mode trunk fiber spanning the Qualcomm Mira Mesa location.  Engineered to provide a long term solution for ever decreasing conduit space within the public right of way, this new trunk fiber has been installed in a manner to allow mid span access and fusion splicing at multiple locations surrounding the wireless company’s Mira Mesa campus.   TekWorks fiber optic technicians have already completed the mid span ring splice of 216 single mode fibers from this cable, for a new structure scheduled for construction in 2010.

May 2009 - TekWorks Outside Plant department, in partnership with Nasland Engineering, was recently awarded a high profile directional boring project, that will extend new conduits and fiber optic cable to the Southwest quadrant of Qualcomm’s Mira Mesa based campus.  The project is in a very busy traffic corridor and presents some challenging logistics and construction schedules.  An accelerated build schedule was established early on and has evolved into a massive co/op environment with the existing service providers and the City of S.D. This project is currently underway, and has been scheduled for commissioning in July 2009.

Tekworks is continuing our support for Qualcomm Inc., one of the largest companies in San Diego County. Tekworks is currently installing two 10g data centers for Qualcomm in San Diego as well as Las Vegas.  Both data centers will house upwards of 50 APC cabinets and will use the new CISCO 7000, 5000, and 2000 switches.  Tekworks stays on top of leading edge technology in support our largest customer.
